A Hive of Activity: Boosting Biodiversity at Linney 🐝

A Hive of Activity: Boosting Biodiversity at Linney 🐝

At Linney, sustainability isn’t just about strategy, it’s about creating meaningful, visible change across our sites. One of the most exciting examples of this is the introduction of five beehives outside our Create building in Mansfield, forming part of our ongoing mission to enhance biodiversity.

Rehomed from the local area and cared for in partnership with an experienced beekeeper, these thousands of honey bees now have a safe and supportive environment to thrive. As they explore the green spaces across our site, they play a crucial role as pollinators, helping to strengthen local ecosystems and support plant life.

Alongside their environmental benefits, the hives have also produced something special, Linney’s own honey. Harvests are shared with clients, visitors, and Linney people, often presented in bespoke gift boxes. Visitors can even catch a glimpse of the bees at work, helping raise awareness of the importance of pollinators and the steps we’re taking towards a more sustainable future.

As with all initiatives at Linney, safety remains a priority. We’ve implemented careful precautions around the hives, including training for dedicated first aiders, ensuring that both our bees and visitors are well protected.

This hive project has become a fantastic way to engage people with sustainability in action, demonstrating how small, thoughtful initiatives can create a positive impact for biodiversity, education, and our wider environment. 🐝🌱
