At this year’s Glastonbury Festival, we teamed up with The Wildlife Trusts to raise awareness about one of the most overlooked ecosystems: peatlands. The ‘Love Peat’ campaign aimed to educate festival-goers about the essential role peatlands play in carbon storage, water filtration, and biodiversity.
Our Events team helped bring this message to life by creating a 10m x 6m activation space in the Woodsies area, where visitors could take a “seat in the peat” and learn more about this critical habitat. The activation space was filled with fun and interactive elements, including handmade emperor moth wings and a special peatlands poncho for visitors to try on.
Peatlands are often drained for agriculture or development, which not only destroys vital ecosystems but also releases large amounts of stored carbon into the atmosphere. By participating in this campaign, we hope to inspire more people to take action in preserving these vital environments.
